Building Character...

Well, I guess it's safe to say that I have slightly abandoned my blogging duties lately.  Boy have I been busy...and distracted!!  I have been pretty open about the fact that the last 12-14 months have not exactly been stellar!  I have lost my grandmother, lost my little brother, gotten separated and divorced, dealt with a crappy car, and so on.  Well, it seems as if every hurdle I start to jump, another is there waiting for me.

As I wrote here, I have put my house up for sale.  I have to admit, that I was hoping this would be just what I needed to help me start to get over the divorce and so on.  There are too many memories and such everywhere I turn.  The week that it has been on the market, it has been showing like crazy!!  We have constantly been out of the house while they are showing the house!  I'm not complaining at all, I want to get it sold!!  Well, we had two bids on the house finally.  We accepted one of them and had papers signed and everything.  I also went and found a new place to live.  It's an apartment that is newer and in a good part of town.  The apartments are well taken care of and they are really hard to get into.  The only thing is, the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartments (which is the ONLY one they had left for me to take) is only slightly smaller than my house now and the cost is the same as my house payment.  So, so much for downsizing and saving money!!  haha!!  But I was willing to make the financial sacrifice so that Truett could have the best surroundings possible.  I went and put in my application for the apartment and paid my deposit.  They said that they could move me in this coming Monday.  So I was faced with having to pay bills on the house until closing AND the apartment.  It will be a struggle, but with help from my wonderful family, I was hoping to be able to swing it.  Low and behold, the person that we had a contract with to buy the house, pulled out.  So, now I have an apartment to move into and the house is back on the market!  I have a lot of showings lined up for this weekend, but this is not the extra stress I was needing!!  Hopefully we will get it sold...again. I'm going to start moving into my apartment Monday.  Since it's just me, I guess I will just move us in a little at a time.  I have no idea what I am going to do having two places to take care of!! 

I feel like I can't catch a break sometimes!!  They say these times help you "build character", well this last year has helped me build enough character to last me until I'm 90!!  haha!!  I guess this weekend will be me deciding what to sell, donate, and move.  Along with starting to pack boxes and so on.  We shall see what this weekend brings with my house!!

What A Day!!

Truett and I had a jam packed day today!!  I will have to say that it was nice to have distraction though!  The day all started with The Home Depot Kids Workshop!

Truett was super excited to have his sister join us today for the Kids Workshop!

After Home Depot we went and watched Truett's brother's last basketball game.  Truett's dad is the coach, so Truett LOVED getting to see the game!  After the game, we all went and had ice cream to celebrate the big win.  I have to admit that this was hard for me, but I made it through without crying or without us arguing!!  That's a record!!  haha!! 



We did have a little lull in the day where we went home and Truett took a little power nap before we headed to his friend Brooklyn's birthday party at The Little Gym in Rogers, AR.  These are really fun parties for the kids...and the parents! haha!!  The kids get to run and play with the teachers there, while the parents sit back and chit chat!

We had quite a day!  We had a lot of fun, but I am definitely happy to be home in my pajamas and slippers relaxing on the couch!!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!!!

Product of the Week

I'm excited it's Thursday because that means it's Product of the Week Time with Aly and Tiffanie! 

This week my product of the week is:

Weight Watchers.  Now I know, not exactly too thrilling, but I just started it again,  and I am really happy with the results.  I used this program to help me lose all of my pregnancy weight after Truett was born.  I got off of it a couple of years ago when I went on my steroid shot for my arthritis...which by the way, was not the smartest thing to do!!  haha!!  So needless to say, the steroids (mixed with not making myself accountable) made me blow up!!   Two weeks ago I made the decision to join again, and I am so happy I did!!  I have been on the program almost two weeks and I have lots 10 pounds!!  I am not going to lie, the first week was the worst!!  But once I was able to get my mind set right, it is now a breeze!!  I am hoping to be back to my old self soon!!  I love this program because I am one of those that I need to have the goal in front of me and to have something hold me accountable!!  My cousin has been using it for years.  She lost lost tons of weight and now uses the program to help her maintain.  She is a busy mom like me, so we don't always have time to fit exercise into our day, so weight watchers takes that into account and adapts your plan to that!

Let's Get It Sold!!

My house is officially for sale!!  It's scary, exciting, sad, happy, every emotion you can think of to have this finally happening! This is the first home that we (the ex and I) bought, and it's also the home that I brought Truett home to.  I am ready to downsize though (although that will require me parting with a lot!!  haha!!), and make a new start for me and Truett!  Let's hope the process is a smooth one!!  haha!

The "G" Word Strikes Again!!

Well, kind of an update from my last post (which can be found here):

Today was the day that I actually found out that I have been lied to for a while, and the ex does indeed have a girlfriend....AAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!  Excuse me while I pull the knife from my heart!!  Oh, and the salt on the wound is that it's someone that I am familiar with.  Why oh why do these things have to be so hard?!  I am just ready for the weekend to be here to keep me busy!  Boy do we have a lot going on this week!!

On to other things:

Tomorrow the Realtor comes to take photos of my house to get it listed and sold!  Maybe this will go pretty smooth and getting out of this house and somewhere new will help me move on!!  I am hoping for that anyway!
