A day with my best buddy!

The weather here as been out of this world!!  The sun is shining brightly and it feels like the perfect spring day....and it's JANUARY!!!  I won't complain though because I hate snow!!  It is the perfect day to get out with my little man and have some outside fun.  We didn't quite get to have the kind of bonding time I was hoping for, but it was time that we had together nonetheless.  Instead of going to the park like I had hoped, me and the little guy went shoe shopping.  Both of Truett's pairs of shoes literally fell apart today!!  These things always happen when you least need them to!!  I literally have no budget for ANY extras considering I had to just shell out a ridiculous amount of money to replace my car battery.  Yes, my car troubles continue, and yes, my luck in 2012 doesn't seem to be on the upswing yet from 2011.  GRR!!!  Oh, well...at least I had fun with my little guy, and I found some pretty reasonably priced shoes too!!

Tru with his penny he was about to throw into the fountain.  He was sooo excited!!  While out and about, I also got to exchange my Yankee Candle I got for Christmas.  One of my wonderful students gave an amazing candle for Christmas, but it was one of their cedar cents, and well, I was highly allergic to it, so I got to swap it out for a nice new one!!  I picked out, or I should say Truett picked out, the Vanilla Lime scent.  He did a good job!  It's a nice and fresh scent!

Tru throwing in his penny and making his wish!

Taking a little break after picking out his new shoes!  Shopping is such hard work!!  haha!

Tru's first pair of shoes.  I let him pick these out.  He loved the skulls on them!  We picked these up at Children's Place, my favorite spot for Tru's clothes and shoes.  These weren't on sale, but I did have a $10 gift card that I got redeeming my points over at My Points.  So after tax, I ended up paying just over $8.00 out of pocket!  Not bad!!

Well, since the shoes we purchased were black, I was worried about what he would wear with all of his navy clothes.  Luckily Gymboree was having a sale, so we popped in to see what they had.  I wasn't going to purchase anything and just make do with what we had bought, but then I found the only pair of navy shoes left in his size...and they were a part of their sale!!  Woo Hoo!!!  I do still have a little bit of luck left after all!!  haha!!  These were marked down to $9.99!! Not bad at all!!

So, not only did I get to spend some great time with my little man on this amazing day, but I was able to pick up two pairs of shoes for around $20.00 total....not too bad!!  Oh, and I forgot to mention, EVERY store we went into today, I dot compliments on how well behaved my child was!!!!  That is the BEST feeling!!!
